Changelog
  • v0.8.5.2rc1
    • Coin Control 0.8.5
      • Heavily tested for several months, with minor usability improvements.  It is now considered stable and soon to be included in 0.8.5.2.
    • SSE2 block validation - Speed Boost!
      • This was under testing since September 13th for 64bit only without any problems. Now Mac 32bit, Win32 and Linux32 are all supported.  This can substantially boost the performance of block sync or reindex of the Litecoin client.
    • Disable Wallet Mode
      • Optional advanced feature for relay-only or mining nodes where a wallet is not required.  Operating litecoind with disablewallet saves between 40-200MB of RAM.
    • Enhanced Privacy Protection in Discovery of External IP address
      • We are testing gmaxwell's patch for Bitcoin 0.9 that removes the query of a website to determine the client's external IP address.  This is a major privacy enhancement.
    • Disconnect nodes older than protocol version 70002 (Litecoin 0.8.3.7)
      • Proposed for 0.8.5.2 is to disconnect from old clients that are a dangerously old.  Along with the alerts this is to encourage those users to upgrade their client to better protect both themselves and the network.
What else will be included in 0.8.5.2?
  • 0.8.5.2 will drop the fee by 50%.  This needs to be rolled out carefully so users avoid the trouble of stuck transactions.
  • Watch Only Addresses - We would really like to backport and include this handy feature.  No guarantees.
  • LevelDB 1.13 Upgrade - both Bitcoin and Litecoin suffer from rare corruption on MacOS X.  Perhaps this will fix that issue.

  1. Accept it or not, it is still much less demanding to make Us Dollars! You can then trade these dollars you make for bitcoin mason at any of the trades, for example Bitstamp in the event that you're found in the Us.
